Zelma Ruth Harris

Zelma Ruth Harris, 76 of Cleveland, TN went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 17th, 2023.

Ruth was born and raised in the Cleveland area, earned an associate degree in business and was a member of Clover Leaf Baptist Church. She worked at Bendix as an Accountant for 10 years and for Hardwick Clothing until her retirement. Ruth was a dedicated church member and served as Secretary, VBS and Sunday School teacher. She loved listening to Gaither’s music and collected just about every piece of music they put out. Ruth also loved to shop with her daughters and spend time with her family.  She will be most remembered for her love and dedication to her family.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Reba Mikel; aunt, Lottie Bell Mikel; aunt and uncle, Zelma and Ben Blalock; and uncle, Rex Blalock.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Gary Harris; adopted daughters, Remanda Russell and Nicole Mowery; grandchildren: Jennifer Beam, Mashaly Barrera, Braylan Gibson, and Addison Creighton; great grandchildren: Zane, Colson, and Beckett; and many cousins and extended family members.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 22nd, 2023 from noon until the funeral hour at 2pm in the Ralph Bucker Funeral Home with Pastors Larry Humbard and Carl Duckworth officiating. Interment will be held Monday, October 23rd, 2023 at 10:30am in the Hilcrest Memorial Gardens.
