William Kendall (Ken) Kennedy loving husband, father, brother and friend went to be with the Lord peacefully, at home with his wife on September 4, 2025. Ken’s walk with the Lord Jesus Christ grew deeper and more precious in his later years. He was a member of the Cross Point Church of God and was retired from Chattanooga Times-Free Press.
He was married to Susan Jeanette Kennedy, his loving wife of forty years. They had one son, William Russell (Rusty) Kennedy who considered his father his superhero. Rusty and Donna Freeman have been together thirteen years. Children, Lea Freeman, Tyler Freeman and Haley Freeman, granddaughter McKenzie Wilcox. Mother-in-law, Brenda Hughes. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ken is survived by his wife, Susan Jeanette, son Rusty, sister Cheryl Monroy (Saul) and brother-in-law Walter Terry.
Ken was preceded in death by father Wendell Cambell, mother Imogene Kennedy, brother Donnie Kennedy, sisters Doris Rogers (Ronnie), and Jennie Terry (Walter).
Kendall loved classic cars, hotrods, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. Fondly referred to as Fat Cat. Rusty Burke was Ken’s life-time friend. His favorite toy was his white 1978 El Camino Super Sport.
Celebration of life services will be held in honor of Ken on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Poole Funeral Home on APD-40, Cleveland TN. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM, service at 2:00 PM. Interment will be at Lee Cemetery in McDonald, TN.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made toward funeral expenses to Poole Funeral Home.
