Whitney Nicole Gray

Whitney Nicole Self Gray, 41, of Cleveland, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 20, 2020 in a local hospital.  She was born in Etowah and had lived in Cleveland most of her life.  She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Michigan Avenue Baptist Church.  She and her husband Jason are the owners of Gold and Silver Exchange in Cleveland.  She was a homeschool Mom and was actively involved with Michigan Avenue Elementary School.  She enjoyed going to the mountains, hiking, and exploring creeks and trails.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Womac; and son, Christopher Jason Gray II.

She is survived by her husband, Jason Gray; two children, Evan Gray and Ian Gray; mother, Louise Womac of Cleveland; mother- and father-in-law, Sandra and Larry Gray of Cleveland; sister, Kristi Self of Cleveland; brother-in-law, Michael Gray of McAllen, TX; nephew, Blayton Womac of Cleveland; and nieces, Tayla Wattson and Kai’Lee Womac, both of Cleveland.

A celebration of her life will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Wallin officiating.  Interment will follow in Michigan Avenue Baptist Church Cemetery.  A white dove release ceremony and the playing of bagpipes will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service.
