Wesley C. Smith Jr.

Wesley C. Smith Jr., 74, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville. He was of the Baptist Faith and was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He was born on March 7, 1946 in Turtletown, Tennessee to the late Wesley Cleo Smith Sr. and Dorothy Chastain Smith. 

He is survived by his lifelong partner, Delores Ann Smith, and three children, Richard Smith, Tammy (Mark) Downing, and David (Brandi) Smith, all of Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Four grandchildren; Regan Smith, Alicia (Chase) Heasley, Devin (Danielle) Downing and Madison Downing; Three Great-grandchildren; Justice and Colton Heasley and Shia Downing; Two sisters; Kay Hicks and Carol Smith. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A private celebration of his life will be held on Saturday April 11, 2020 at 12:00 in the Chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Brooks officiating. Interment will be at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Turtletown, Tennessee with playing of bagpipes and a white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
