Wayne Fletcher Bishop, 79, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021at his residence. He was a member of Waterville Baptist Church, and had spent his life as a part of the Waterville Community. Married to the love of his life, Ann Katherine Bishop, they spent 56 years together before she went in Grace in 2019. He loved hot rods, was a avid fisherman, loved the Dallas Cowboys, Nascar (especially Dale Earnhardt), and owned 3 corvettes. He served his Country in the Army, and he served during the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife; parents, Marjorie and Wilbur Bishop; brother, Wilbur Bishop Jr.
He is survived by his children, Robin Bishop Dixon and husband, Mark, Pamela Dawn Bishop, Brian Andrew Bishop, all of Cleveland, Christine Bishop Harris and husband, David of Huntersville, NC; grandchildren, Shelby Bishop, Ashley Harris, Bailey Harris; great-grandchildren, Carlee Weir, Knox Bishop, and Makenna Bishop; sisters, Joyce Green and Kathy Ballard, both of Cleveland; several nieces and nephews also survived.
A celebration of his life will be conducted at 12:30 pm on Friday, February 19, 2021 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Joe Brooks officiating. Interment will follow at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens. A white dove release ceremony and the playing of bagpipes will conclude the service.
The family will receive friend’s from 11:00 to 12:30 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
