Wanda Faye Brewer

Wanda Faye Brewer, 83, a resident of Cleveland, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at St. Thomas Hospital in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.  Born in Cleveland on May 14, 1936, and although she had an eventful life and lived in several different states, she always called Cleveland her home.

Wanda spent her life helping others and spending her younger years as a physical therapist aide at Bradley County Nursing Home.  She was a light everywhere she went, never meeting a stranger, and making everyone around her fall in love with her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Margaret Burnette; brother, Sam Burnette; sons, Donald and Timothy Dempsey; and grandson, Aaron Miller.

Wanda is survived by her daughter, Vicci Dempsey of Murfreesboro; sister, Barbara Finnell of Cleveland; grandchildren, Valerie Smitty of Woodbury, Tennessee, Maria (Tom) Keller of Cleveland, Ryan (Dee) Dempsey of Cleveland, and Jeremy Dempsey of Cleveland; great-grandchildren, Alicia Smitty (Anthony) of Woodbury, Zachery Smitty of Woodbury, Nathan Keller of Cleveland, and Brody Dempsey of Cleveland; and several adoring nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2020 with Reverend Mike Davis officiating.  Interment will follow in Lee Cemetery, McDonald, with a white dove release ceremony and the playing of bagpipes concluding the service.
