Thomas Oliver Sorrells

Thomas Oliver Sorrells, 85, a resident of Charleston, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2019.  He was retired from Bowater after 42 ½ years of service.  He was a member of Charleston United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, June Shelton Sorrells; two daughters and their spouses, Mary Lou O’Hern and Michael E. O’Hern of Louisville and Anne Sorrells Harmon and Dr. Perry B. Harmon of Lebanon; six grandchildren and spouses, Adam O’Hern (Robin), Aaron O’Hern (Christian), Ali Cole (Dan), Emily Anne Harmon, Hayley Harmon and Jackson Harmon (Chandler); six great-grandchildren and one sister-in-law, Janey Sorrells; nephews, John Sorrells, David Oliver (Keri), Matt Majors (Miranda) and nieces, Amy Ragland (Chuck) and Mollie Majors. 

The service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 3, 2019 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Reverend Joe Ratledge, Pastor of Charleston United Methodist Church, officiating.  Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Jackson Harmon, Aaron O'Hern, Adam O’Hern, Dan Cole, Matt Majors and David Oliver serving as pallbearers. 

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service.
