Sylvia Jane Ferguson Mummert, age 97, born March 12, 1922, of Georgetown, Tennessee passed away Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Hospice of Chattanooga
She was a member of Charleston Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a former member and officer of the local chapter of Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority. Sylvia loved entertaining, traveling, singing, quilting, and crocheting. Sylvia retired in the early 1980’s as an executive assistant from Plastic Industries, Athens, TN.
She was preceded in death by her late husband Lloyd William Mummert; sisters, Vera Stroup and Verla Deutchen; and brother, Louis Ferguson.
She is survived by her two children, Sharon Sue Lee of Highland Village, Texas, and Lloyd Allen Mummert and his wife Michele of Georgetown, TN; four grandchildren, Marissa Nobles (Tyler), Lloyd Matthew Mummert (Kacie), Cindy Shelton, and Angie Clausen; great-grandchildren, Robbie and Cassie Shelton, Jake, Jason, and Kayla Clausen, London and Marleigh Nobles, Lloyd Emerson Mummert, and due to arrive in March, Macie Mummert; great-great-grandson, Ryker; brother, Robert Ferguson; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at the Charleston Cumberland Presbyterian Church at 4:00 p.m. with Reverend Bill Bond officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local Hospice.
