Sandra Marlene Pendley

January 2, 1947 — April 9, 2022

Sandra Marlene Easler Pendley, 75, of Cleveland, died Saturday, April 9, 2022 with her family by her side.  She was born January 2, 1947 in Shelby, NC and raised in Beaufort, SC.  She was a daughter of the late Wallace Monroe and Dollie Mae Easler. 

Mrs. Pendley was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She was married to Ordained Bishop, Dr. A. Roland Pendley, and traveled the United States alongside her husband in 50 years of ministry.  She was an accomplished pianist, guitarist, vocalist, cook, decorator, fabulous hostess, and all around homemaker. 

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her siblings, Gernard Easler, Patricia Easler Godwin, Melrose Easler White, Roland Easler, and Bernard Easler.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dr. A. Roland Pendley; two children, Bishop Darrin Pendley (Bernice) of MD, Dana Pendley Underwood (Don) of NC; five grandchildren, Brittany Pendley, Cameron Pendley (Caroline), Jared Pendley, Danielle Seals, and Devin Seals (Andria); three great-grandchildren Ellie Seals, Ava Seals and Sadie Seals; brothers, Wayne Easler (Annette) and Rev. Jack Easler; brothers-in-law, Rev. Cordell Godwin (Doris) and Ronald Pendley; and sister-in-law, Doris Easler; and several nieces and nephews also survive. 

A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Bishop Darrin Pendley officiating.

Her family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.

Committal service will be at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.  Bishop Darrin Pendley, Cameron Pendley, Jared Pendley, Don Underwood, Devin Seals, and Charles Godwin will be serving as pallbearers.  A white dove release ceremony and the playing of bagpipes will conclude the service.  The processional will be leaving the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. to go to the cemetery.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga and the Dialysis Care Center of Cleveland for their compassionate care given to Sandra.
