Robert Perry, 73, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. Robert was self-employed, and was the owner/operator of Perry’s Backhoe and Trucking for 35 years. He was dearly loved by family and friends and was known for his generosity, comical personality, and his remarkable resemblance to Conway Twitty.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thurman Perry; mother, Lula Devine Perry; sisters, Mary Grayson, Geneva Willis, Doris Jean Perry, and Wanda Berry; brothers, Jack Perry, and Jessie Perry.
Robert is survived by his wife, Melba of 35 years; fur babies, Odie and Buddy; son, Bobby Perry (Sharm); daughters, Connie Hendrix (John) and Donna Ellis (Dennis); step-son, Ronnie Cross (Charlotte); step-daughters, Becky Martin, Connie Torbett (Robert), Ellie Cantrell (Mike); sister, Barbara Brown; many nieces and nephews; two special nieces, Jennifer Grayson and Cindy Grayson; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; special grandsons, Koty Perry, Kris Poe, Brody Perry and Blake Ellis.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, August 20, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Cheatham officiating. Interment will take place at Fort Hill Cemetery with Blake Ellis, Kris Poe, Koty Perry, Brody Perry, Jesse “Jimbo” Schabell, and Anthony Perry serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 4:00p.m to 7:00p.m.
