Richard Wayne Nelson
July 22, 1940 — June 23, 2020
Richard Wayne Nelson passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at a Chattanooga medical facility. He was born July 22, 1940 in Chattanooga. Wayne was a retired Navy veteran. He was also in the transportation industry as a truck driver.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Margaret Cagle Nelson; daughter, Rhonda England and son, Frankie Nelson.
Survivors include his sons, Ricky (Sharon) Nelson and Steven Nelson; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, special sister-in-law, Diane (Melvin) Davis and other loving family and friends.
A joint memorial service to honor the lives of Wayne and his daughter, Rhonda England, will be at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 5, 2020 at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service.
