Pamela Ruth Wheeler

Pamela Ruth Engle Wheeler, 73, of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2020 from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.  She taught for over thirty years in Knoxville City Schools and Bradley County Schools, specifically in teaching reading. She held a B.S and M.S from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She loved life, her family (including the four-legged members) and teaching her students to read.  In her retirement, she enjoyed traveling and camping with her family and special friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Phillip and Anita Engle and sister Nancy Spaulding.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years Charles E. Wheeler, Jr; son Charles E. Wheeler III and wife Wendy of Cleveland; daughter Amanda Carestio and husband Billy of Denver, CO; grandchildren  Drew and Meredith of Cleveland, Ruby, Booker, and Desmond of Denver, CO; nephew Jeff, Kate, and Ned Spaulding many friends, relatives and camping buddies also survive.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home; there will be no formal service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Ark of Cleveland at 240 Oak St NW, Cleveland, TN 37320 and/or your local food bank.
