Nina Prichard

October 11, 1938 — December 9, 2021

Nina Prichard, age 83, resident of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021 in Cleveland, TN.  She was Miss POCO High, 1956 and played on the Championship Wildkitten Basketball Team.  She also played basketball at Warren Wilson College.  She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church for 58 years where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, active in WMU, as well as the director of the VBS for many years.  She taught for 38 years, which included:  Arnold, Allen, and Stuart Elementary Schools of Cleveland, Cleveland Junior High School, as well as in the Math Dept at Cleveland High School for 18 years.  In addition, she also taught in the Polk County and Conasauga schools. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Mollie (Davis) Wilson; her sisters: Lois Mantooth, Inez Crenshaw, Mildred Sparks, Vera Sue Wilson, Charlotte Gibson, Janice Wilson; her brothers:  Jack Wilson, Bud Wilson, Bill Wilson, Marshall Wilson, and Johnny Wilson.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 63 years, Spence Prichard of Cleveland; her son, Steve Prichard of Nashville; her son, Scott Prichard and wife, Michele of Huntsville, AL; her granddaughter, Lily Prichard and grandson, Benji Prichard of Huntsville, AL; her sister, Frances Couch of Cleveland; her sister, Barbara Kyle of Benton; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 1:00 P. M. at Westwood Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Smartt officiating.  Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.  A white dove release ceremony and the playing of bagpipes will conclude the service. The family will receive friends at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 P. M. on Wednesday, December 15, 2021.

The family would like to thank the staff of Legacy Village of Cleveland, her nursing staff at Tennova Hospital, as well as Riley Whittington and Cynthia Bristol of Kindred Hospice, for their care and compassion over the past year.
