Mary Stophel

Mary Stophel, 90, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021 in Ooltewah, TN.  Mary was a homemaker who loved to travel.  She and Ralph had vacationed in 48/50 states and enjoyed being on Florida’s Gulf coast as often as possible.   Family and faith were her passions. Mary held memberships at Westwood Baptist and First Baptist Church throughout her 57 years in Cleveland.  Having her family together for celebrations and Holidays were a special time, usually highlighted by competitive game nights lasting into early morning hours.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jennings Bryan, and Betty Hickman Booher; Brothers: Milton Booher, Roy Booher, Marvin Booher, and Charles Booher all of Bristol, TN.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Ralph Stophel, of Cleveland, TN.  Daughters: Connie Anderson (Robert) of Cleveland, TN, Lisa Battle (Dixon) Johns Creek, GA; Grandchildren: Jennifer Navarro (German) Seminole, FL, Elizabeth Brown (Ethan), Owen Brown (great grandson) Charlotte NC, Connor Battle, Atlanta, GA, Robert Anderson, Jr. of Cleveland; Brother: Clarence Booher (Virginia) of Bristol, TN; several nieces and nephews.
