Mary Lee Brooks

Mary Lee Brooks, 93 Of Cleveland, TN passed from this life to her Heavenly home on Monday September 25th, 2023.

Born in Harlan Kentucky and moved to Cleveland , TN in 1958, she was a life long member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Cleveland where along with her husband served as Sunday School superintendent and also custodian for many years.

Mary loved to cook for all of her family and friends and she was really great at it! She also loved crafting and always was wanting to give to someone, Mary loved to travel and Christmas was her favorite holiday, she was always so proud of her home during the Christmas season with all of the pretty lights.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Arthur Brooks Jr. of 64 years, her loving son Arthur (Butch) Brooks, and her two Grandsons Jason Burger, and Josh Burger.

She leaves behind to her memory her Daughters, Judy (Junior) Burger, Vickie Shelton, and Peggy Brooks, and her son Johnny Brooks. Grandchildren Melissa (Tracy) Mathis, Ron (Valerie) Burger, Cindy Burger, Juanita Brooks, Eric (Kaylene) Brooks, Brandon (Tiffany) Brooks Lisa (Jason) Woodall, Terry Brooks, Jerry Brooks, and Salina Roberts. She also leaves behind her special brother-in law Paul (Janet) Blackwell. Several Great grandchildren, and Great, Great, Great Grandchildren, she also leaves behind her special friend and neighbor Mary Jane Casteel, and her beloved little dog Lucy Brooks. And many extended family and friends.

Her beloved grandsons will serve as her pallbearers; Terry and Jerry Brooks will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will be receiving friends on Thursday September 28th, 2023 from 5:00- 8:00 P.M.  and Friday September 29th,2023 from 10:00 A.M.- 12:00 P.M. at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home in Cleveland, TN.

A funeral Service to honor her life will be held on Friday September the 29th, 2023 at 12:00 P.M. with Pastor Junior Burger officiating in the Chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
