Martha Lucille Buckner Thomas

Martha Lucille Buckner Thomas, 81, of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2020 in a local hospital.  She had a love for reading and enjoyed gardening and growing flowers.  She was a member of Beacon Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Virgil Buckner and her second husband, Harry “Chip” Thomas; her parents, Avery “Dink” Yarber and Myrtle Richardson Yarber; children, Diane Hatcher and Carolyn Stewart; infant grandson, Christopher Buckner and siblings, Ulysses Yarber and Lester Avery Yarber “Rod”.

She is survived by her children, Wesley Buckner (Mary) and Dennis Buckner, all of Cleveland; eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; siblings, W.A. Doug Yarber (Margie) and Marie Yarber Ross, all of Cleveland.

The funeral will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 23, 2020 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Floyd Boggess officiating.  A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2020 in Chestuee Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service.
