Luther Ledford

Luther Ledford, age 73, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, December 6, 2021 in Cleveland, TN.  He loved taking drives through the mountains, camping, fishing, whittling, as well as coon hunting with his loyal dog, Queen. A gifted mechanic, he was always diligent about caring for his children and grandchildren’s vehicles, continually admonishing them to keep their oil changed!  He also loved riding four-wheelers with his grandchildren, passing on to them his four-wheeling expertise.  But above all, his favorite activity was attending worship services. His grandchildren affirm that he was the greatest papaw in the world.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Lottie Ledford; his brothers, Riley and Horace Ledford; his sister, Madelyne Goode; and his sons, Darrell and Jeffrey Ledford.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Ledford; his daughter, Melissa Lynn Guffey and husband David Duncan of Decatur, TN; granddaughter, Kayla Cross Inman; granddaughter, Chyanne Pell and husband, Dillon; grandson, Dakota Guffey and fiance, Samantha Ferry; granddaughter, Kristen Cross and fiancé, Elijah Harris and nine great-grandchildren all of Cleveland, TN

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 2:00 at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Ledford officiating.  Interment will follow at Wesleyann Missionary Baptist Church in Apison, TN. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 9, 2021 prior to the service at the funeral home.
