Lois Jane Nutter

Lois Sword Nutter, 89 of Cleveland, TN passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 10th, 2024. 

Lois was born in Saltville, VA where she met the love of her life Malcolm. They enjoyed 65 years of marriage, had two children, Jeff and Debbie. After retirement from Olin Chemicals in Augusta, GA they moved to Cleveland, TN to be closer to their children and grandchildren. She was a long time member of Bellefounte Baptist Church. Lois was a loving wife and mother, enjoyed working in her flower garden and was a faithful Christian. She loved the Lord with all of her heart and was a true prayer warrior. 

Lois was preceded in death by her loving husband, Malcolm; parents, Joe “Pete” and Lora “Euchie” Sword; brothers, William “Bill” and James “Bud” Sword; daughter-in-law, Pam Nutter; son-in-law, Danny Beshears. 

Survivors include her son, Jeff Nutter of Decatur, TN and daughter, Debbie Beshears of Cleveland, TN; grandchildren: Lora Rust Miller, Chris (Christina) Rust, Ariel (J.W.) Gollihar; Amanda (Brian) Roberts, and April Brown; great grandchildren: Shalyn, Loralyn, Cameron, Ethan, Mckinley, Bryson, Brandon, Bradley, Emily, Aiden, Preston, and Andre; great grandchild, Aires; sisters, Judy Plummer, Jacquline “Jackie” Moore and many nieces and nephews. 

A very special thanks for many years of friendship to Martha Moss and Luba, special friends and caregivers, JoAnn Cooley and Diane Linder. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House or the Awana’s at Bellefounte Baptist Church. 

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 13th, 2024 from 5-7pm with the funeral service at 7pm in the Poole Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Cleveland, 3000 Ralph Buckner Blvd. NE Cleveland, TN 37311. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, January 14th, 2024 at 1pm in the Mount Rose Cemetery, 10069 Crescent Rd. Glade Springs, VA 24340.
