Linda Sue Mayton

Linda Sue Mayton, 76, of Cleveland, passed away after a lengthy illness, at her home, on August 1, 2023. With her passing, we have lost a precious wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and a true friend.

Linda was born in Cleveland, Tennessee on May 2, 1947 to her loving parents, the late Grady and Louie Boehmer. 

She worked in Human Resources for 30 years prior to retiring from Allied Signal (Bendix). Upon retiring, she and her husband helped form and direct the "BridgeMakers" Grief Support Group through Ralph Buckner Funeral Home, which they were able to minister through for a period of 21 years. She not only held monthly dinner meetings, but also successfully planned and chaperoned trips to numerous places across the country, all while helping people understand how to handle and work through their grief when losing a loved one.

Linda is a member of the Cleveland First Church of the Nazarene, and in recent years, supported her husband, Doyle, in his music ministry at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. 

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 56 years, Doyle Mayton; her son, Jamie Mayton (Colette); her twin sister, Brenda Carter (D.L.); two grandchildren, Brandon Mayton (Crystal), and Elizabeth Mayton; great grandchildren, Kamden, Selena, Kayleigh, Tanner, and Nova; nieces, Tiffany Ahlberg (Donny), April Johnson (Lyle); nephew, Dustin Carter (Shantae) and a host of other loved extended family members.

The family would also like to offer their sincere appreciation to her dedicated caregivers (Keshia, Donna, and Myrt) who have become a part of their extended family. And a special thank you to Adoration Hospice.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, August 3rd at 7:00 pm at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Reverend David Reynolds officiating. 

The family will receive family and friends from 5: 00 to 7:00 on August 3rd prior to the service. 

A graveside service will be held on Friday at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery at 11:00 am which will include a white dove release and bagpipe ceremony. Pall Bearers: Donny Ahlberg, Steve Martin, Butch Haire, Gerald Johnson, Terry Stanfield, and James Teague. Honorary Pall Bearers: Randy Mayton, D.L. Carter, Larry Suits.
