Linda Ann Haulk, age 82, peacefully passed away on November 18, 2023. She was a beloved woman known for her unwavering smile, positivity, and dedication to her family. She was surrounded by her family, moving to her eternal home with her Savior Jesus Christ.
Linda was born in the Hillside community and residential neighborhood of Elizabethton TN on C Street on July 15th, 1941 to Eugene Roosevelt and Thelma Brown White. Little did she know the years would take her to live in Covington Ky and Pekin IL for brief periods of time and then back again to Elizabethton, TN and nearby Wautaga TN. Each time making new friends and enjoying childhood memories of her mother playing music on the player piano and her momma also playing the piano “by ear”. She said that “momma always had the family’s battery radio going to the sounds of the songs of the 1940’s & 1950’s” developing Linda’s love of music. It was during her time in Pekin IL that Linda was invited to the First Baptist Church in Pekin and it was there that Linda gave her life to The Lord and was Saved as a sixth grade student. Shortly after, Linda moved to Cleveland Tn in the early 1950’s, once again moving near family. Linda graduated from Bradley Central High School in 1959 and began work at Cleveland Chair Company. There she met the love of her life, Ray Haulk, and they married in June of 1961. They had one daughter, Rae Denise. Linda always enjoyed “working with numbers” and later worked in the office at Magic Chef in the 1960’s and later as bookkeeper at Toddler Credit Union, affiliated with the J.H. Kellman Co in the 1970’s and at Miller Furniture in the early 1990’s. Linda retired as bookkeeper for the Bradley County Trustees office in June of 2003. Linda loved collecting antiques and spending time in the beautiful mountains of East Tennessee and the sandy white beach of Siesta Key, Florida.
Linda was predeceased in death by her mother and father, Eugene and Thelma White; sister Betty Morton (Jack) of Soddy Daisy TN; brother Robert Joseph “Bob” White (Janice); her father and mother-in-law Riley Benson Haulk and Callie Lucille Haulk; sisters-in-law Artie Haulk Dixon (Wayne), Ida Haulk Lewis (Boyd), Lona Haulk King(James), Ruth Haulk Harbison, Eva Haulk Nipper (Harry), Jean Haulk Ratcliff (Bill), Bessie Haulk Duckworth (Carl); brother-in-law Riley Benson Haulk Jr. and C.L. Haulk(Ann).
Linda is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ray Haulk, their daughter Rae Denise and grandson, Riley Davis; two sisters Sally Bergen (Bruce) of West Lafayette IN and Rebecca Harris of Chattanooga TN; sister-in-law Janice White (Bob) and Ann Haulk (C.L.); brother-in-law Jack Morton (Betty) and Carl Duckworth (Bessie).
The family will receive friends at Poole Funeral Home of Cleveland on Wednesday, November 22nd, 2023 from 12pm until the funeral hour at 2pm. Internment will be in Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery in Ocoee, Tn.
