Kathy E. Penn Marks

Kathy E. Penn Marks, 67, of Ellijay, GA, passed away Friday, July 1, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family. Kathy was of the Christian faith and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Icy (Brannon) Helton; husband, John L. Penn; and brothers, Andy Helton, Junior Helton and Jessie Helton.

She is survived by her husband, William Marks of Ellijay; three children, Angela Munn (Jeff) of Durham, Perham, ME; Icy Taylor (Justin Phillips fiancé), Joshua McQuinn, all of Cleveland; three sisters, Loretta Helton, Mazie Helton and Jackie Greenwood; two brothers, Danny Helton and Wayne Helton; three grandchildren, Tyler Merrill of Maine, Alexander Cope of Ohio, and Hope Allen of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

A gathering of her family and loved ones will be held from 1p.m. to 3p.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and Crematory.

Per Kathy’s wishes, in lieu of flowers, family and loved ones may donate to their local ASPCA, as she advocated for animals in need.
