Karen Elizabeth Thomas

Karen Elizabeth Thomas, 74, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2023, at a local healthcare facility.  She was a retired hairdresser, and had also worked as a cashier and manager at Cracker Barrel.  She was of the Baptist faith, and had lived in this area her entire life. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Thomas; and her parents, Basil and Marjorie Hyde.

She is survived by her brother, Basal Lamar Hyde, Jr. (Carneta) of Cleveland; her sister, Rebecca Mastin of Cleveland; two nieces, Nicole Hyde and Kassie Howard; and two nephews, Bowdie Hyde and Tyler Mastin.  Several more nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

A celebration of her life will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Cliff Howard officiating.  Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.  A white dove release ceremony and the playing of bagpipes will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at the funeral home.
