Faye Barrett passed away Sunday, March 28, 2021, surrounded by her loving husband of 44 years and children. She had been in the care of a local long term health care facility since surviving one heart attack and two strokes. Born on August 4, 1944 to Ralph and Sybil White of Old Fort, TN.
After graduating high school, she worked at Mallory Battery (Duracell) for over 30 years, retiring before she was 50.
She enjoyed, most of all, her time on the beaches of Florida relaxing, reading her books, taking early morning walks, and listening to the waves crash on the beach. Her other hobbies included planting flowers and taking pictures of them, cooking (oh my that chocolate pudding), and reading anything with words. She leaves behind a wonderful husband of 44 years, and best friend in Walter (Dub) Barrett; her children, Tim Jones and wife, Jean Marie of Benton, Michael Jones (deceased), Keith Barrett and wife, Cathy of Cleveland, and Kim Barrett Logan of Ringgold, GA; brother, Steve White and wife, Janice of Benton; and sister, Julia Unavee Burris and husband, Don of Benton. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews that she especially enjoyed spending time with during the holiday season.
In addition to the things she enjoyed, the thing she looked forward to the most was spending time and “feeding” her grandchildren with nuggets of laughter, Love, and wisdom. Included are grandchildren, Matthew Jones, Garrett Jones, Chandlee Jones, Tyler Barrett, Brooke Smith, and Michelle Morgan. Great-grandchildren Gaige Smith, Bailey Smith, Amara Morgan, and Braxton Morgan, and are all better people for having the privilege of knowing her and Dub.
We will all miss the smile and laughter that Faye projected, but rejoice in the knowledge that she is in a much better place now. Rest In Peace Mom; we all will miss your outgoing personality, and that contagious laugh you spread to everyone you touched.
It has been very difficult to put into words how much she meant to her family and friends, so I must leave these memories without words, to serve best the individuals who knew her with their own memories of the love and laughter she shared with them.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, April 12, 2021 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Quinn Green officiating. A white dove release ceremony and the playing of bagpipes will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
You may watch the service via live stream on Ralph Buckner Funeral Home’s Facebook page.
