Joyce Sherlin

Joyce Loretta Romines Sherlin, 92, moved to her heavenly home Sunday, August 22, 2021.  She was the oldest member of Bancroft Church of God where she had served the church faithfully for many years.  She will be greatly missed by all. She was retired from Faye Swafford Originals and was a faithful home maker who enjoyed traveling and shopping.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, David Sherlin,; parents, Chester and Maude Romines, a daughter, Brenda Sherlin of Cleveland, sisters Dorthello Tinsley, Anna Faye Drago, Barbara Jean Evans, Vinginia Ruth Romines, Franklin Romines, Marvin Romines of and Marion Romines.

She is survived by her sisters:  Jo Wilson of Jacksonville, FL, and Deborah Stout of St. Pertersburg, FL, her daughter Rhonda Sherlin of Cleveland, several great nieces and nephews, and special friends Bobbie Payne, Calvin Goodwin, and Thressia Holcomb.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday August 26, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Taylor and Rev. Jeff Kesley officiating.  Interment will follow at Hilcrest Cemetery with Chet Romines, Ryan Tinsley, Mack Beasley, Johnny Goodwin, and JD Kirkpatrick serving as pallbearers.

A white dove release ceremony and the playing of bagpipes will conclude the service.  The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
