JoAnn Geren

JoAnn Geren, age 78, of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Bradley Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.  She enjoyed being outdoors, camping at Harrison Bay, taking cruises, and spending time at the beach. Most important, she was a caregiver for many children in the Cleveland and Bradley County area including her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Jerry Geren; sister, Wanda Hampton; and parents, Hoyt Brewer and Lorene Carpenter.

She is survived by her son and daughter in law Greg and Gina Geren of Cleveland, Mike and Virginia Geren of Cleveland, Barry and Shirley Geren of GA, daughter and son in law Angie and Stacey Cox of Cleveland; 7 grandchildren, Tyler (Brynn) Geren, Lance Geren, Brooke (Ryan) Linden, Taylor Geren, Tanner, Tucker, and Emma Cox; great grandchildren, Preston and Kinsley Linden, Adeline and Everly Geren; brother Jimmy (Shirley) Brewer; sister Jane Chavis, and Brenda (Frank) Wallace; family friend Jim Maynard; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2022 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Josh Taylor officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday from noon until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. 

Interment will follow to Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Tyler Geren, Lance Geren, Tanner Cox, Tucker Cox, Keith Maynard, and Ryan Linden serving as pallbearers. A White Dove Release Ceremony and the Playing of Bagpipes will conclude the service.
