Jimmie Watson, 86, of Benton, TN, passed away on Feb. 12, 2024, at a Chattanooga Medical Facility after a short illness. He was born Sept. 6, 1937, in Old Fort, TN, to Earl and Maude Waters Watson. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, football, basketball, and baseball. The Tennessee Volunteers were his favorite team. He enjoyed farming and raising cattle. In his younger years, he enjoyed deer hunting. He retired from Magic Chef after 44 years of service. He is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Maude Waters Watson, sister Earlene Richardson Lee, brother Kenneth Watson, and grandson Kevin Trew. He is survived by daughter Shelia (Michael) Trew, grandson M. Nicholas Trew, great-grandson Kaden Trew, great-granddaughter Addisyn Trew, great-granddaughter Ashtyn Trew, brother Glenn (Shirley) Watson, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Poole Funeral Home on Feb. 15, 2024, from 5-7 p.m. Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Feb. 16, 2024, at Benton Memorial Graden with Pastor Biran Whitmore presiding over the service. Pallbearers are M. Nicholas Trew, Kaden Trew, Dennis Watson, Stacy Earwood, Robert Qualls, and Taylor Anderson.
