Jerry Hill

July 26, 1930 — November 25, 2020

Jerry Batts Hill, 90, a resident of Cleveland, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 in a local health care facility.

She was born on July 26, 1930 in Henrietta, TN to the late Mace and Homer Batts.

She was a lifelong resident of Cookeville, TN until she moved to Cleveland later in life. Jerry was a longtime and loyal member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Cookeville. She was also an employee of Citizens Bank for many years and former owner of Southern Traditions gift shop. She was a loving person who never met a stranger.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Richard Hunter Hill Jr.; siblings, Lucy Allen, Jewell Shearron, Patsy Batts, Phill and Jeff Batts; and beloved mother-in-law, Ruby Barksdale Hill.

 She is survived by her son, Richard Hunter Hill III; daughter Debby Hill Woodard and husband, Dale; granddaughter, Molly Woodard; and great-grandsons Carter and Hudson.

Due to the national pandemic, the visitation and service will take place at a later date.

The family would like to express their sincere and heartfelt gratitude to Mary Payne, friend and long serving caregiver and to the Bradley Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center Sunshine Room nurses for their loving attention and professional care.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mustard Seed Children’s Home, 4955 Kuykendail Rd. Cookeville, TN 38501 or the charity of your choice.
