Jane Marie Rotureau Robertson

May 12, 1956 — October 29, 2020

Jane Marie Rotureau Robertson died peacefully in her sleep at her home following an extended illness.  She was 64.  She was a strong believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and throughout her life always put others ahead of herself in everything she did.  She was devoted to her family and friends and was always willing to help in any way she could.  Those who knew her were blessed by her sweet spirit, kindness and caring nature.

Jane was born in Chattanooga, TN to Bertie Mae Rotureau and the late Joseph Lawrence Rotureau.  She studied at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where she graduated with a Master’s of Business Communication.  While attending university Jane met her husband of 42 years, Thomas Austin Robertson.  They married in Chattanooga and remained there until 1981 when they moved to Cleveland, Tennessee.

She is survived by her mother, and her brother, Joseph Rotureau (Vicki); her husband, and three daughters:  Kate Robertson Pryor (Will), Carey Holland Robertson, and Anne Louise Robertson Brasfield (John Hardy).  She leaves behind one precious granddaughter, Hardy Lee Brasfield, and was excited to learn and anxiously anticipating the birth of her second grandchild early next year.  She is also survived by many other loving nieces and nephews.

Upon graduation, Jane taught in the business school at UTC for several years and then retired to raise her family and continued to help her husband in his business with her business background and acumen. She raised her family and taught Sunday school and was a long time member of Broad Street United Methodist Church in Cleveland but more recently attended Westmore Church of God.  There she enjoyed studying the Word in her weekly women’s Bible study class. This group and the women in it were so precious to her.  Jane never had an unkind word about anyone and led her life in a gracious and loving manner.  She exemplified a Proverbs 31 woman in every aspect of her life.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
