James (J.C.) Clifford Campbell

James (J.C.) Clifford Campbell, 86, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2020 in a local healthcare facility.  He had worked with the Bradley County EMS for eight years, and had also worked with the Bradley County Public Service Unit and the City of Cleveland Public Service Unit.  He was a retiree of the U.S. Air Force with 22 years of service.  He was a member of West Cleveland Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Janet Caroline Baker Campbell; parents, James Franklin Campbell and Margaret Thomas Campbell; grandson, Joshua Benjamin Wyatt; one sister, and one brother.

He is survived by four children, Patti Price of Farner, Tennessee, Sue Hammond and husband Mike of Georgetown, Tennessee, Marie Wyatt of Trenton, Tennessee, and James C. Campbell, Jr., and wife Audra of Cleveland; eight grandchildren, Tami Chamberlain, Eric Bright, David Bright, Joe Hampton, Michael Hammond, Jr., Chad Hammond, Sr. Airman Trey Campbell, and Ryan Hudson Campbell; eight great grandchildren; two sisters; one brothers; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

A celebration of his life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2020 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Arris Cavender officiating.  Interment will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery with military honors, a white dove release ceremony, and the playing of bagpipes concluding the service.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in J.C.’s memory to the Alhambra Shriners at 1000 Alhambra Drive, Chattanooga, Tennessee  37421.
