James Brown,74, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, September 14 2021 in Cleveland, TN.  He was a member of Cleveland Cowboy Church, where he was an Associate Pastor for four years.  He also served as a missionary at Monterrey, Mexico for 14 years where he and his wife, Madge both taught and he preached.  He was a Vietnam veteran of the United States Marine Corp and favorite thing to do was to study the Bible.

He was preceded in death by his parents,  Luke and Nannie Brown of Cleveland; his sister, Betty Goins of Cleveland, and his nephew Bobbie Arp of Cleveland, and his niece Johnnie Emma Arp of Cleveland.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Madge Albritton Brown of Cleveland,  his sister, Patsy Arp of Cleveland, as well as several beloved nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 7:00 p.m.at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. Wally Varnell officiating.  Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 17th at Mt. Olive Church of God Cemetery in Cleveland.  A white dove release ceremony and the playing of bagpipes will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday prior to the service.
