Jackie (Jack) Chalfant Bartlett, age 88, passed away, Friday, December 22, 2023, in Cleveland, TN. Jack and his wife Sally have just recently moved to Cleveland from Bentonville, AR where they have lived for 30 years. Jack was born to the late Maurene Martha Chalfant Bartlett and Harold Russel Bartlett on March 28, 1935, in Cedar Rapids, IA and was the oldest of 2 children. He attended William Chrisman High School in Independence, MO. He was very proud to have served in the Army from 1953 to 1956. He was stationed in Germany for the majority of his service. He graduated from Finley Engineering College in 1959 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and worked for the same company for 32 years. One project he was a part of was the design of a gas tank, used on the first moon landing. Jack loved his wife of 65 years, Sally, and all of his family. He loved working on his computer and helping his family and friends with computer issues. In his spare time, he spent the last 30 years on the golf course. He ran a couple of golf leagues, one called Foozlers and was on the Arkansas Golf Rating Team. He even had a hole-in-one, though he didn’t see it land. To his astonishment he found it in the hole. Jack is survived by his beloved wife, Sally Shaw Bartlett; daughters, Michele (Paul) Booher of Cleveland, TN and Shannon Bartlett of Clark, NJ; sister, Sherrilyn Mullins of Independence, MO; two granddaughters, one great-grandson and many nieces and nephews. As was Jack’s wish there will be no formal funeral services, just family sharing memories at a later date. Condolences may be shared at pfhcleveland.com. Arrangements are entrusted to the Poole Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Cleveland, TN.
