George Richard "Dickie" Bird, 85, passed away October 31, 2025. He was a lifelong resident of Cleveland. He was a 1958 graduate of Bradley Central High School, and then attended The Tennessee Polytechnic Institute. He was the founder of Bird's Drafting, and later worked for Tri-State Truss Company. He was a longtime member and tireless servant for the benevolence ministries at East Side Church of Christ. He enjoyed genealogy, Braves baseball, UT Vols sports, and spending time with friends and family.
Dickie was the oldest son of the late Fletcher and Bernice Little Bird. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister; Sandra Caylor, the mother of his sons; Charlotte Kinser Bird, and Hazel Burgner Bird.
Richard leaves behind to cherish his memory, sons; Jeff (Donna) Bird and Dustin Bird, stepdaughter, Kimberly Holland, grandchildren; Brayton (Kayla) Bird and Bristol (Mackenzie) Bird, Dakota (Taylor) Bird, great grandchildren; Jane Bird, Declan Bird, Walker Bird and Bridger Bird, brother; Larry (Linda) Bird, brother-in-law; Doyle Caylor and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Celebration is planned for Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 1PM at East Side Church of Christ, 252 Wildwood Avenue SE in Cleveland. The Family will receive friends from 12-1 PM at the church. There will be a private graveside service for family following the service.
