Freida Ames

Freida Allison Ames, 89, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021 in a local health care facility.  She was a member of First United Methodist Church and a graduate of Saltville High School.

She was the daughter of the late John and Artie Allison of Saltville, Virginia.  She was preceded in death by her husband, George Ames, Sr.;  son, G. Ken Ames, Jr., daughter-in-law, Alice Ames:  brothers, Trigg Allison, Charles Allison, “Jiggs” Allison, and John Allison, Jr.;  sisters, Mae Pickle, Clemmy Surber, and Arvilla Swartz.

Survivors include her daughter Susan Ames Srite and husband, Jim Srite of Knoxville;  grandchildren, Eric Srite of Knoxville and Brian Srite of Memphis;  step-son, Jason Phillips and wife, Jennifer of Chattanooga;  great-grandchidren, Davin Phillips, Christian Phillips and a sister, Shelby (Peggy) Marshall of Cleveland. 

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
