Francis "Frankie" Ivan McCartney III

Francis “Frankie” Ivan McCartney, III, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 9^th, 2023.

Frankie was born and raised in Cleveland, TN and graduated from Bradley High School in 2001. He studied at Cleveland State College and worked for the United States Postal Service for 18 years. Frankie served as the Vice Mayor of Charleston, TN and was instrumental in the building and growing of the Charleston Community. He attended Bellefonte Baptist Church and was devoted in his faith to the Lord. Frankie was a happy person who loved to make others laugh. He loved big, was exceedingly generous, thoughtful in his words and actions, smart, and humble. Frankie was an all around good man and lived his life with INTEGRITY. He is dearly loved and will be deeply missed.

Frankie was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Albert Lee Calfee; grandfather, Ted Cleo Burris; paternal grandfather, Frank McCartney, Sr.; grandfather, Marshall Coyle; and brother, Joseph “Joe” Bernard.

Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Beth McCartney; children, Charley McCartney and Francis “Parker” McCartney IV; mother, Sharlene Calfee Williams (Jeff), father, Francis Ivan McCartney, Jr. (Linda), siblings: Shanda McCartney, Tiffany Smith (Brandon), Joshua McCartney, Hunter White, Tanner White, Trevor White, Seth Bernard, and Tracy Abdullah; grandmother, Kizzie Calfee, Delores Coyle ; parents-in-law, Richard VanCor and Laurie Baker; brother-in-law, Jason Baker (Susan); sisters-in-law, Kelly Self (Charlie) and Mallory VanCor; and numerous: aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, several cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 13^th, 2023 from 4-8pm at Poole Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Cleveland, 3000 Ralph Buckner Blvd NE Cleveland, TN 37311 and Thursday from 12pm until the service hour at 1pm at Bellefounte Baptist Church, 132 Bellefounte Rd. NE Cleveland, TN 37312. Interment will follow in the Hiwassee Memorial Gardens at 8063 N. Lee Hwy Charleston, TN 37310.
