Floyd Russel Dotson

Floyd Russel Dotson, 90, a resident of Cleveland, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022, in a local healthcare facility.  He was born and raised in Michigan and moved from Grand Blanc, MI, to Cleveland, TN, 33 years ago following his retirement from General Motors Corporation.  He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.  He loved doing woodworking and playing his guitar.  He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Leona Dotson; parents, Henry O. Dotson and Anna Grabowski Dotson; two sons, Thomas Lee Dotson and Paul Russell Dotson; and all seven of his siblings.

He is survived by two children, Linda Pontin and husband Gary, and Tina Arnold and husband Jerry; one grandson, Christopher Pontin; two step-granddaughters, Jennifer Baranski and Heather Arnold; one step-great-granddaughter, Anna Baranski; and several nieces and nephews also survive. 

A celebration of his life will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2022 in the in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and Crematory with Reverend Bill Griffith officiating.  Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens.  A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 14, 2022 at the funeral home.
