Flora Sue Lillard Posey

Flora Sue Lillard Posey, 93, of Cleveland passed away Monday, January 4, 2021.  She was the daughter of the late Daniel Garfield Lillard and Sena Kirksey Lillard.  Sue was a member of Big Springs United Methodist Church.  She was a long time employee of Dethero’s Laundry and Superior Cleaners in Cleveland.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe T. Posey; son-in-law, Kenneth C. Martel; brothers, Ted, D. G. Mel, Joe, Beany and infant brother, William Abraham Lillard; and sisters, Rachel, Nancy and Gladys Lillard and Geraldine Lillard Brock.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Joey and Mark James; granddaughters, Kendra Martel McDonald (Martin) of Greeneville, TN and Alex Allen (Trey) of Cleveland; great grandchildren, Lilly and Skyler McDonald; sisters-in-law, Betty, Peggy and Doris Lillard; and several nieces and nephews.

A private family burial will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Richard Mason officiating.

At Sue’s request there will be no formal visitation at the funeral home due to COVID-19.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Big Springs United Methodist Church, PO Box 2635, Cleveland TN  37320.
