Edward F. Stowers, 78, of Cleveland, passed away Friday, January 31, 2020 in a local hospital. He was born in Brownville, Texas. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War. He had lived in the Cleveland area for the past 43 years. He was a Christian and had worked with the Phil Driscoll Ministries. He was a loving, caring husband, father, and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Caroline Estell Stowers; parents, Paul Stowers and Mary Love Stowers; son, Larry Stowers; sister, Betty Martin; and brothers, Donald Stowers, Paul Stowers, and Terry Stowers.
He is survived by his daughter, Deanna Stowers; three grandchildren, Dustin Stowers and wife Lexi of Chattanooga, Trevor McCracken, and Destiny McCracken, both of Cleveland; one great-granddaughter, Adalaide Elizabeth Stowers McCracken; sisters, Bonnie Stowers and Marylynn Stowers; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Hank Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors, a white dove release ceremony, and the playing of bagpipes to conclude to the service.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at the funeral home.
