Donald E. Deakins

Donald E. Deakins, age 84, a resident of Cleveland, TN, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, February 4, 2020.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Georgetown. He was retired from Kyle Dodge and also served in the Tennessee National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his Wife of 61 years Lucille Blevins Deakins, his father Earnest Deakins, and his mother Cora May Johnson Deakins; and his sister Linda Fay Nance

He is survived by his 2 sons: Terry Deakins of Lake Jackson, TX and Mark Allen (Artia) Deakins of Cleveland; 5 grandchildren: Arthia Deakins, Sueanna Deakins Adams (David) and Marquietta (John) Kennedy all of Cleveland; Cindy Deakins of Augusta, GA and Lebron (Arlene) Deakins of Lake Jackson, TX; 10 great- grandchildren, and his sister Virgina Ragsdale from Dandridge, TN.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Friday February 7, 2020 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Leonerd Castleman officiating. Interment will follow at the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony accompanied by playing of bagpipes.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday February 6, 2020 at the funeral home.
