Dennis Ray Davis

Mr. Dennis R. Davis, of Spencer, TN formerly of Cleveland, TN passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. He was 76 years old. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 7th , 2024, at Poole Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Sam Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery with Honors provided by the Bradley County Sheriff Office Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 6th, 2024, at the Poole Funeral Home Cleveland location. Mr. Davis was born December 9, 1947, in Bradley County, TN to the late Herman and Margaret Vernon Davis. Dennis served as a member of the Cleveland Police Department and a Deputy with the Bradley County Sheriff Office for more than 36 years and retired as a Captain. Dennis was a member of the SWAT Team as a Sniper. He was known as being a gun enthusiast, he loved law enforcement, and just loved to be around other people. He loved his wife dearly, and was a wonderful husband.  Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Chester and Arlene Parrish Kirtland, also a brother, Herman Davis. Survivors include his wife, Darlene Davis, Spencer, TN; one son, Burt Davis Cleveland, TN; a daughter, Denise Benton (David), Cleveland, TN; one grandson, Gabe Benton, Cleveland, TN; a brother, Ted Davis (Carrie), Cleveland, TN; sisters-in-law, Diane Cartwright, Linda Britan (Forest), all of Cleveland, TN; brothers-in-law, Chester Kirtland (Melinda), Mack Kirtland, all of Spencer, TN; Online condolences may be made at www.pfhcleveland.com
