Denise “Sister” Casias, age 61, of Cleveland, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. She enjoyed talking to people and she was a great listener. She was never on-time for a single event, and had an influence on so many people, her smile was truly contagious. She was a beautiful person inside and out, and was always right, winning every argument. Ms. Casias was the editor of the school paper, and was in the school band at Kermit High School in Kermit, TX, and graduated in the class of 1978.
She was preceded in death by her parents; John J. and Jerri Stanley; husband, Benjamin Casias Jr; and son, Daniel J. Casias.
She is survived by her daughter, Jessica Stanley of Cleveland; sons, Benjamin Casias and wife, Brittany of Cleveland, John Charles “Charlie” Casias of Cleveland; grandchildren, Maddie, Dani, Finley, and Clyde; brothers, Michael Stanley and wife, Summer of Colleyville, TX, John J. Stanley and wife, Norma of Kermit, TX; sister, Penelope “Penny” Dominguez and husband, Raul of Odessa, TX; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends also survived.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 3, 2021 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral home with Cathy Bickle officiating. A white dove release ceremony and the playing of bagpipes will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
