Debbie Kay Lewis

Debbie Kay Lewis, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025, at the age of 68 after a courageous battle with multiple health challenges. Born and raised in Cleveland, Tennessee, Debbie’s life was deeply rooted in family, faith, and love of the place she always called home.

Debbie was known for her kindness, compassion, and resilience. Her warm smile and generous heart touched countless lives, and she was always willing to lend a helping hand. She found peace in the mountains and joy in every moment spent with her loved ones.

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Bobby and Ann Vernon; her son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Annette Lewis; her granddaughters, Haley Blaylock and Jaina Lewis; her grandsons, Logan Lewis and Kason Brack; her niece and nephew-in-law, Josh and Jennifer Curtis; and her grandniece, Savannah Curtis. Each will carry forward her legacy of love and devotion. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Inez and H.B. Scoggins; her brother, Dennis Scoggins; and her daughter, Christy Dawn Lewis.

Though her life included many struggles, it was also filled with laughter, fun, and a spirit of mischief that brought joy to those around her. Debbie’s memory will remain a lasting source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.

Honoring her wishes, Debbie will be cremated, and her ashes will be scattered at a later date. A celebration of her life will be held at a time and place to be determined.
