David Job, 83, of McDonald, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026, after a battle with leukemia, with his loving wife by his side.
He was born in Jamestown, North Dakota, to Louis Job and Lydia Marzolf, one of eight children.
Raised in a hardworking family of modest means, David learned the value of industriousness early in life—selling newspapers on street corners at just five years old in the cold Dakota winters to help support his family.
He enjoyed his years at Union College, in Lincoln, Nebraska, where he earned his bachelor’s degree and met the love of his life, Anne. He began his career as a high school mathematics teacher before returning to school to pursue a calling in ministry, serving as a pastor in the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Iowa.
He later transitioned into a career as a nursing home administrator, a role he embraced with determination and self-taught expertise. David had a remarkable ability to meet challenges head-on and master them. A natural leader, he was deeply respected and beloved by his staff, many of whom affectionately called him “Daddy” for his guidance, mentorship, and example of integrity. He was never above hard work, earning admiration for his willingness to lead by example.
David was a devoted husband, father, and provider who took great pride in caring for his family and supporting those who worked alongside him. Together, David and Anne built homes for their family across several states, including Nebraska, Colorado, Tennessee, Florida, and South Carolina. Following his retirement from nursing home administration, he remained active in land development, home renovation, and construction in the Bradley County, Tennessee area.
Even into his 70s, he was known for his strong work ethic and ability to outwork those much younger.
David will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing or working with him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and all his siblings. He is survived by his devoted wife
of nearly 60 years, Anne; his children, Peter (Kim) and Gina (Brendon); and his seven grandchildren: Garron, Dylan, Tyler, Raegan, Mitchell, Carter, and Gabrielle.
