Clifford T. Withrow

Clifford T. Withrow, 90, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, February 12, 2021 in a Chattanooga hospital.  He had lived in the Cleveland area his entire life.  He was of the Baptist faith and a self-employed carpenter.   He was an avid hunter; he never met a stranger and loved everyone.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Grace Margaret Swafford Withrow; parents, Luther Withrow and Beulah Combs Withrow; siblings, Henry (Wink) Withrow, Bill Withrow, Orville Withrow, Charlie Withrow, Bob Withrow, C.L. (Pat) Withrow, Anna Isabella Withrow, and Joyce Murphy; and sisters-in-law, Barbara Withrow, Agnes Withrow, Lennie Withrow, Pauline Withrow, Bertie Withrow, and brothers-in-law, Roy Dixon, Hoyt Campbell, Ronnie Ridgeway, and James Murphy.

He is survived by his daughter, Alice Marie Withrow Couch and husband Donald, Jr. of Cleveland; one grandchild, Joshua Couch of Cleveland; sisters, Dorothy (Dot) Dixon of Cleveland, Frances (Frank) Campbell of Reliance, Helen Ridgeway of Cleveland; brothers, James Withrow (Marlene) of Charleston, Doyle Withrow (Barbara) of Charleston, Dave Withrow (Charlene) of Decatur, Carl Withrow (Martha) of Decatur, and Cecil Withrow (Mitzi) of Reliance; sister-in-law, Agnes Withrow of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

A celebration of his life will be conducted on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and Crematory with Jay Goins officiating.  Interment will follow in Lee Cemetery at White Oak with Adam Withrow, James Withrow, Calvin Withrow, Daniel Beaty, Steven Withrow, and Jay Collins serving as pallbearers.  A white dove release ceremony and the playing of bagpipes will conclude the service. 

A private visitation will be held prior to the service at the funeral home.
