Carolyn Ann Skinner, age 77, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026, at the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Cleveland, Tennessee.
She was born in Cleveland on March 22, 1948, to Eula Finnell Bryson and John Ross Bryson.
Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose warmth and laughter touched all who knew her. She shared a deep and enduring love with her husband, Terry Skinner, whom she often called the love of her life.
She was a proud and loving mother. Her family was her greatest joy, and she found endless happiness in time spent with her grandchildren. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter, each of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
Through her last days, she kept her sense of humor and, if asked how she was feeling, would reply, “With my fingers.” Her quick wit and joyful spirit were a comfort to everyone around her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Kenneth, John Ross Jr., and Jack Bryson, and a special niece, Shasta McKenzie McGill.
She is survived by her husband, Terry Skinner; her son, Kenneth Wilson; her daughter, Carmen (Sammy) Reagan; her grandchildren, Kalisha (Josh) Ledford, Leigh Ann (Tanner) Works, Dakota Wilson, and Blakeley Wilson, Lauren (Brandon) Murphy and Amanda Reagan; great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. She is also survived by her sister, whom she loved so much, Gayla Hurst, as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Carolyn will be remembered for her great sense of humor, her loving heart, and the joy she brought to every room. Her legacy of love, strength, and laughter will live on through her family and all who were blessed to know her.
A special thank you to Kalisha Ledford and Leigh Ann Works, whose unwavering, compassionate care for their grandmother was truly an example of love in action. The family would also like to thank the staff of the Tennessee State Veterans Home and Hospice of Chattanooga for the care, compassion, and support they provided.
The family will receive friends from 11 AM until 1:00 PM on Monday, March 23, 2026, at Poole Funeral Home on Ralph Buckner Boulevard, followed by the Remembrance of Life Service at 1:00PM. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens.
