Billy Eugene "Gene" Dunn

Billy Eugene “Gene” Dunn, 77, of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at his residence.  He was a 1962 graduate of Bradley High School.  Gene was a veteran of the United States Army and served two tours in Vietnam as a combat medic.  He retired as a truck driver from Shaw Industries.  Gene was a “man’s man” who enjoyed being an outdoorsman, especially hunting. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda McDaniel Dunn; parents, Glenn and Sue Knight Dunn; and granddaughter, Shantae Neyman.

Survivors include his children, Janie (Greg) Neyman and Glenn (Shaunda) Dunn, all of Cleveland and Gena Near of Etowah; grandchildren, Olivia Neyman, Frances Dunn and Linda Near; great grandchildren, Maddox Allen and Ryker Laliberte; sisters, Charlotte Holmes, Glenda Reagan and Phyllis Lofty; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 16, 2021 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Jeanie Cissom officiating.  Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors and the playing of bagpipes. 

His family will receive friends from 5:00 –7:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
