Betty M. Prueitt, age 89, of Birchwood, TN, passed peacefully in a local nursing facility on Friday, November 28, 2025. A lifelong resident of Birchwood, she worked for more than 20 years at Southeastern Meat Company and was an avid NASCAR fan. Most importantly, Betty professed her faith in Jesus Christ, which guided her life and the love she shared with others.
Betty’s heart was large enough to embrace many. She is survived by her beloved sister, Alice Glenn; her nephew, Neil McCallie Jr., his wife Allison, and their daughter Claire. She also leaves behind other family members who will forever treasure her memory.
Her enduring spirit is tempered by the sorrow of earlier losses. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Billy Prueitt; her son, Stanley Prueitt; her father, Luther Thomas McCallie; her mother, Mamie Elizabeth Cranfield McCallie; her brother, Neil Lee McCallie Sr., her sister, Tommye Roark and her nephew, Randy McKinney. The absence of these loved ones left a void in her heart that only profound love could fill.
Betty will be remembered for her strength, her kindness, and the deep love she shared with all who knew her.
A graveside service will be held, Wednesday, December 3rd at McInturff Cemetery in Birchwood, TN at 3 PM. Family and friends are asked to gather at 2:45 PM. The service will be led by Pastor David Delmotte. Pallbearers will be Neil Mc Callie, Jr., Lynn Prueitt, Lynn Roark, Allan Roark, and Jason Wolfe.
