Betty Jean (Jones) Hitson, age 83 of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024 surrounded by her family. Betty loved her family, pets, cooking, and crafting. She was a very talented painter, lover of flowers, fishing and the great outdoors.
She is preceded in death by her spouse, Jerry Hitson; parents, Roy and Beulah (Goins) Jones; and brother, Roy Lee Jones.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Sherry (Tim) Haney; grandchildren, Bethany (Mike) Neeper and Cassidy (Shayla) Lawson; great-grandchildren, Cassey, Jamie, Sawyer Neeper, Clementine and Santana Lawson; sister, Ann Borders; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends, Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Poole Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Cleveland, 3000 Ralph Buckner Blvd; Cleveland, TN 37311. A funeral service will follow at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel with Matt Harrell officiating. Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
