Betty Jean Fritz, 78, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, died Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on February 7, 1942 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. In 2004 she moved from San Diego, California, to Cleveland. She worked for Buck Knives in California for 25 years before retiring in 1998. She loved to travel and went on 16 cruises.
She was married to her loving husband James (Jim) Fritz for 37 years before his death in 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Edgar Johnson and Effie Ford Johnson.
She is survived by her only daughter Connie (Lloyd) Davis who she loved so dearly; close friends Bonnie and Selden Humphres, Bill and Arlene Dejoeseph, Terese Chastain and Celia Narus, and Tannis and Paul Duncan; and caregivers, Charlene Wells, Jackie Walker, Mert Hyde, Deanna True, Leigh Bean, and Lisa Acomb.
A celebration of her life will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2020 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Suzanne Burns officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service.
Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2020 at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony and the playing of bagpipes to conclude the service.
