Barbara Anne Tummins

Barbara Anne Tummins, a resident of Cleveland, passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at her residence. She was born to the late Thomas and Myrtle Wilson, and had lived in this area most of her life. She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church, and taught the ladies Sunday School class. Ms. Tummins was known for being very devoted to her faith and family, was an avid Nascar fan, and loved to solve puzzles.  She also loved studying her Bible and planting flowers in the spring.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Johnny Green Tummins; daughter, Kathy Tummins; sister, Carole Hall; brothers, Bobby Wilson, and Michael Wilson.

She is survived by her daughters, Vickie Jenkins of Cleveland, Donna Louise Sampson of Cleveland, Vanya Taylor and husband, Ronnie of Signal Mountain, TN; grandchildren, Daniel Sampson, Chris Sampson, Andy Jenkins, Tyler Jenkins, Tiffany Cox, Katie Downs, and Zachary Taylor; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Priscilla Harris of Pensacola, FL; and several nieces and nephews also survived.

A celebration of her life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2021 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral home with Reverend A. C. Cooper officiating.  Interment will follow at Lee Cemetery in McDonald, TN with Andy Jenkins, Tyler Jenkins, Daniel Sampson, Zachary Taylor, Travis Cox, and Michael Downs serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony and the playing of bagpipes will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

She loved her family and her church with all of her heart.
