Barbara Jean Ogle Plemons

Barbara Jean Ogle Plemons, 80, of Maryville, passed away Monday, December 19, 2022, at a local healthcare facility, surrounded by her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Big Spring Baptist Church. She was retired from a career in office management, a former employee of Tn Technical Coatings, M&M Mars, and Cleveland Utilities. She enjoyed the organ and served as organist at both East Commerce Baptist Church, Lewisburg and Maple Street Baptist Church, Cleveland.

She was preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Lou Cindia Williamson Ogle; her beloved husband, Robert Edward Plemons; and a sister, Alice Sue Ogle Barbiasz.

She is survived by her children, Amy Claxton (Chris) of Maryville, and Robert Isaac “Ike” Plemons (Amy) of Lexington, SC.; five grandchildren, LouCindia Alene Claxton (Ashton) and Kathryn “Kat” Drey Claxton of Knoxville, and Robert Owen Plemons, Henry Jude Plemons, and William Beck Plemons, of Lexington, SC. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A celebration of her life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and Crematory with Reverend Joe Brooks Interim Pastor at Mt Carmel Baptist and Reverend Chris Seiber Pastor at West Cleveland Baptist Church officiating.  Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery. The playing of bagpipes will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
